Welcome to Gycklaren Magic Marketing AB! * Your European Magic Web Shop * Family Fun On this page, we present a selection of magic effects particularly suited for a family audience. Backstage Vanishing Elephant The performer offers to teach his audience how to vanish an Elephant! He displays a draped tray, a picture of an Elephant, and two boards to "cage" the elephant. He now turns his back to the audience, and performs the effect for an imaginary audience in front of him, while the real audience has a backstage view of the working. The two boards are placed on the tray. The Elephant Card is displayed, and dropped between the two cards. The Cards are then removed, and freely displayed on both sides, to show the Elephant has vanished. The real audience, however, have seen how the effect is accomplished, because they have seen the Elephant Card drop through a slot in the tray into a ribbon harness under the tray. However the Elephant is not visible from the front, being concealed by the drape. After some remarks to the effect that when performed with a real Elephant one would require a much larger trap on the stage than the slot in the tray, and a much stronger harness, the performer offers to repeat the effect, this time with the real audience to the front. The two boards are again placed on the tray, and the Elephant drops between them. The boards are removed and freely displayed on both sides. The Elephant has vanished. The performer explains that there may be a few wise people in the audience who may figure out that the Elephant is behind the drape. As he says this, he turns the tray around, so that the audience can see the Elephant hanging in the ribbon harness behind the drape. If this happens, the performer continues, he has no recourse, except to use some "real magic". The tray is turned, drape side again facing audience. The performer gestures dramatically to make the Elephant vanish, then peels away the drape to show the elephant has indeed vanished. Both the drape and tray are freely shown all sides, with no trace of the elephant. (This effect was inspired by Jack Hughes' Lady Vanishes. We have made it a larger stage item, with an "Elephant" card instead of a Playing Card, and some modifications, so that the tray appears narrower than the Elephant Card that vanishes.) We supply you all the required props, sturdily made in wood, ready to work, with complete instructions. PRICE: 99 € Clown Who Lost His Head Credit for the basic effect goes to Milbourne Christopher whose Forgetful Freddie has become a classic effect with children entertainers, inspiring several models and clones. This model is yet another version of this effect, with a presentation theme for audiences not familiar with absent minded school boys! The performer displays a large cut out figure of a clown, holding a balloon. He explains that clowns are always changing their face, and sometimes, when they are changing them, they even loose them! Performer now removes the clown's head, and places it in a handkerchief (the dressing room) to change the clown's face. However when he tries to retrieve the face from the "dressing room", it has completely vanished. After a search, (opening out the handkerchief, shaking it, and displaying both sides), he wonders what he should do. Inspiration strikes, and the balloon from the Clown's hand is removed, and replaced in lieu of the head. Efforts are made with marker pens or grease pencil and lipstick to make the balloon head look respectable, but to no avail. The only recourse seems to be a bit of real magic! The audience is taught the magic spell, then encouraged to shout it out aloud and all together. After one or two attempts, they get it right, and the balloon bursts, and the clown's head is back in place. We supply the complete apparatus ready to use. The cut out clown just plugs in to the base. There is an extra matching cut out head, and a Devil Handkerchief for vanishing the head, complete with instructions for its use. PRICE: 119 € Crown Jewels An excellent routine for children's entertainers, conceived by Ian Adair, the props for this comprise of a cut out crown with a large jewel, and a safe. The crown is at first covered with a cloth or opaque silk. The performer states that the Queen owns a very valuable crown and in it's center is a priceless jewel. He further states that when the Queen is not wearing her crown she asks for the priceless jewel to be removed and placed inside the special security safe. He opens, first the first door ... it's not there. He opens the second door and points as if it is there, but it isn't. The priceless jewel has gone missing. Then he uncovers the crown to show that the jewel is there, set in the center of the crown. He removes the jewel, pokes his fingers through the big gap and covers the crown again. He places the jewel inside one of the compartments of the two-doored safe closing the door. Here the usual tipping from one side to the other takes place ... ( a´ la the Die Box) the jewel has gone. Perhaps someone has stolen it. Each door, one at a time being opened for the fun, then both ... It Has Gone! Where can it be? He rushes over to the silk covered crown, whips the silk off ... but it is not there. He covers it again, , gets the children to shout out the magic words etc. and yes ... when revealed, its back in position, set in the center of the crown. (It is not necessary to cover it, you can have the Jewel re-appear visibly if you prefer.) We have produced the props in durable wood, painted and screened in bright colors, to bring you a quality model of a novel and new routine which children's performers will love. This is a larger stage size model of our Crown Jewel advertised earlier. The Crown is approx 16" long, and stands 8" high. The Jewel is a large 90 mm diameter. The folding base is 300 mm long and 175 mm wide. The safe measures 230 mm long, 50 thick, and 115 mm high. These are two complete different effects - The Crown which works like Forgetful Freddie, (you can eliminate the safe and vanish the jewel in a change bag if you prefer), and the safe (like the die box, which you could use with a Jumbo Coin as a different trick). Together they combine into a perfect routine. Supplied complete with all required props, and instructions. PRICE: 119 € Egg Nest From the fertile mind of Ian Adair, prolific creator and author of some 240+ magic books, comes this gem of a "Just Chance" effect, suitable for most audiences, and all performing conditions. The performer shows a clear net bag, one the audience can easily see right through. In this "nest" are five different colored eggs, from some exotic rainbow bird. Four spectators participate. Each freely picks an egg from the bag, lucky dip style. No Forces, or outs, and the last egg is left for the performer. When the four spectator's eggs are "cracked open", they contain candy, or consolation messages. A spectator can open the performer's egg (he needn't touch it at all), and it has a diamond ring, or a large denomination currency bill. You have complete control over the contents of your selection, and theirs. If you prefer, you could have the four kids get trinket jewellery, while you get the insides of a real egg! Or have five spectators participate, including the birthday boy or girl, who gets the prize. And it need not be the last egg selected or left behind, the birthday boy can take his pick any time, and still get his prize. This is very simple, very clever, very deceptive, and the props look attractive. It's easy to do, and costs much less than you would expect to pay for such a great magic routine. PRICE: 19 € Performing Pachyderm This is a cut-out of Jumbo, the famous African elephant of P.T. Barnum's Greatest Show on Earth. And obviously, like all elephants, he uses jumbo cards for his card games! Have one or more cards freely selected from a Jumbo deck. Mix them back into the deck, and drop them into Jumbo's top hat. Then Jumbo comes to life. He tips his hat, and with his trunk picks out the selected cards, one at a time. You can have Jumbo do a bit of maths, or find a picture from a stack of picture cards, and NO, there are no forces, and the cards could be signed, and YES, you can have Jumbo pick out as many cards as you wish. Gay Ljungberg of Sweden (thats me) was one of the first to see a set, and I wrote to the creator: An extremely beautiful prop . The mechanics work like a Volvo automobile. Good that you took the trouble and expenses to add the gag cards, it makes the prop worth so much more for the customer. Good theming, nice artwork, quality mechanics, workable routines. It is a very good buy for any children's entertainer or comedy magician." The prop packs flat for carriage, erects absolutely rigid in less than a minute with two bolts and fly nuts, and makes a big display that can be seen at the back of the biggest school hall ! It is sturdily constructed in marine ply and powder coated metal, and comes complete with a Jumbo Deck, extra "gag" Jumbo cards, and detailed instructions. PRICE: 169 € Mismade Parasol Plus The props you get in this outfit comprise of two net tubes, two parasols or umbrellas, (one normal, one mutilated), a parasol cover, matching silks and ribbons, and a variety of very colorful and visual routines to perform with these. MIS-MADE PARASOL: Silks transform to a Mismade Parasol, then a perfect one . MUTILATED PARASOL: Place a Parasol into an empty Net tube and state you are going to transpose them to another empty tube some distance away. Things start going wrong. Part of the Parasol goes across, then ... SILKS TO PARASOL: Place 3 different colored silks into a tube. The audience can see them clearly through the net. Toss up the tube and remove the silks, and they have transformed into a parasol. DO AS I DO: You and a spectator handle one net tube each... This is the Deluxe Model Mutilated Parasol Plus, with larger (ladies' size) parasols, that snap open with the push of a button, allowing you to handle them with one hand, for the professional who wants the best. PRICE: 149 € Silver Sceptre Rising Magic Wand is a familiar effect to many magicians. Silver Scepter is an improved version of the same effect and the creation of George Blake, and comes with a wonderful routine by the creator. This is an aluminum rod approximately 10 mm in diameter and about 400 mm long. The slim rod is contained in a neat bag. There are four phases in the routine where the sceptre rises from a handkerchief, then rises from the bag that houses it. There are horizontal movements, left and right from the same bag, and finally, the scepter sends the bag high into the air! A great item for the kids entertainer but an equally good effect for general audiences. This is an entirely self-contained effect and is always always ready to work. PRICE: 17 € Vanishing Toy Flute This is a toy flute, which you use like you would your magic wand. Instead of waving your wand, blow a few notes through the flute to make your magic happen. For the finish, the flute vanishes in the twinkling of an eye! This works just like your Vanishing Cane or Candle. PRICE: 17 € Educated Duck The Educated Duck is a mechanical wooden duck, which picks out selected cards from a shuffled deck, placed in its feed box.. This is an excellent comedy prop, and to enhance the entertainment the duck can be blindfolded and you can have him choose the wrong card, then remove the blindfold and he will pick out the right card. You can use it for a variety of routines, with alphabet or number cards, picture cards, or even a vent type question answer routine. The prop is well made - attractive, visible and very easy to operate. With a little presentation ability, you can get a lot of entertainment out of this. PRICE: 79 € Howzzat the Clown An excellent animated prop for family shows, this is a large (450 mm high, 400 mm wide) cut out clown. He holds a hat in one hand, a balloon is placed in the other. A packet of cards (Playing Cards, Picture Cards, Cricket or Baseball Cards, or whatever you choose) are introduced, and one selected by a spectator. Selected card is mixed back in to the packet which is placed into the hat. On performers command the balloon bursts and the clown tips over, and "catches" the selected card in his other hand. Made in quality wood and metal, attractively decorated, this packs flat for packing. Easy and sure-fire operation. Can be used for a signed card routine, as the card that appears is the same that was selected. PRICE: 129 € Magic Coloring Book One of the finest tricks in magic. A coloring book is shown to have all blank pages. Suddenly, with a wave of the magicians hand, pictures appear in the book, outlined in black. With audience participation, the magician takes the trick one step further. He colors the pictures - by magic. Now bright, vibrant colors have filled in the black and white pictures! For a fitting finale, all the pages change back to their original state - blank! The Royal Magic Coloring book is the finest on the market. Changes from blank pages to outlined pages to colored drawings are made with the greatest of ease. If you can flip through a book, you can perform this astonishing trick! This is the original. PRICE: 16 € Magic Monsters Coloring Book Kids love monsters! This book has special cute monster pictures, that will appeal to the kids, but not frighten them. PRICE: 16 € Vanishing Crayons All the crayons vanish from a box full of crayons, and the colors appear in a coloring book, or a silk, or black and white line drawing. This is an excellent magic touch to use with any magic coloring book. You could also use it to transform a white silk to a multicolor or rainbow one (via a change bag) or for Instant Art. A simple item that adds an additional touch of magic to your coloring routine! PRICE: 9 € Magic Palette This is not a stand alone magic effect, but a prop you can use in conjunction with many other colouring effects to enhance the routine. The apparatus comprises of what appears to be a regular artist pallette, with four blobs of paint in different colours. Just wave the pallette, and the colours vanish, leaving four black (empty?) spots in their place. You can also do this in reverse, having the four colours appear in place of the empty spots. This goes very well with colouring props like The Magic Colouring Book. PRICE: 9 € Hippity Hop Rabbits The performer shows two cut out rabbits, one white and one black. They are covered with two covers, the white rabbit going into the cover with a white hat, and the black rabbit into the cover with a black hat. The covers are moved around, and the rabbits are found to have exchanged places. This is repeated a number of times, and your audience believes they have caught you out. They inform you that the rabbits are white on one side and black on the other, and you are merely turning them around to change places. there is a lot of byplay and finally you turn the two rabbits around, and show that they are not black and white as the audience believes, but two entirely different colours red and green. Made of wood, cut out rabbits stage size about 280 mm high. PRICE: 89 € Sucker Die Box The performer displays an empty double compartment box, with doors on front and top of box, and a solid die.The die is placed in one compartment, and the audience asked to remember where it is. The box is tilted, and the doors to that compartment are opened, and the die is seen to have vanished. The audience is not impressed, because they have heard the die slide to the opposite compartment. They ask the magician to open the doors to the other compartment. The magician closes the doors to the first compartment. then tilts the box (the audience can hear the die sliding over), then opens the doors to the adjacent compartment to show that it is empty. This business of sliding die from one compartment to the other is repeated, till the audience is howling for all four doors to be opened. Finally, the magician opens all four doors, and shows the die has in fact vanished. The solid die is found in a hat, or some other container. PRICE: 89 € Long Glove The Long Glove is a great fun item for comedy magicians, Kid Show performers, clown acts, M.C. bits, or a touch of unexpected humour on any occasion. The suave performer walks on, formally dressed, in tails and gloves. He pulls off a glove, and drops it on the table, or places it in his pocket. Then he attempts to remove the other Glove... and chaos ! The glove seems to be attached to his shirt sleeve, which comes off, apparently followed by his shirt, his vest, his striped underclothes, in a seemingly never ending tube.
